Bio Goodman Susan
Dr. Goodman is an Attending Rheumatologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She directs the Integrative Rheumatology and Orthopedic Center of Excellence, and is Medical Chief of the Combined (orthopedic and rheumatology) Arthritis Program. Her clinical focus has been the care of inflammatory arthritis patients, with a particular interest in their perioperative management at the time of orthopedic surgery. This interest has informed her research into patient characteristics that are associated with poor outcomes and pre-operative optimization to improve outcomes. She has also helped to develop a translational research program by exploiting the access to joint tissue at the time of orthopedic surgery.
