Drew Moghanaki, MD, MPH – is Professor and Chief of Thoracic Oncology in the UCLA Department of Radiation Oncology, and the Stanley Iezman and Nancy Stark Endowed Chair in Thoracic Radiation Oncology Research at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a staff physician at the VA, co-director of the VA Greater Los Angeles Lung Precision Oncology Program, and co-chair of the VA’s Lung Precision Oncology Program Biomarker Committee.
His area of interest is in early detection and multi-disciplinary management of lung cancer. He is co-chair of the phase III VALOR study evaluating the role of stereotactic radiotherapy for patients with operable early-stage lung cancer. He directed the VA Partnership to Increase Access to Lung Screening leading to >20,000 Veterans screened and >350 diagnosed (2017-2022). He is lead PI for the California Partnership to Increase Access to Lung Screening involving a collaboration with two community hospitals in Los Angeles County.
Dr. Moghanaki mentors and collaborates with clinicians across different disciplines at multiple academic institutions around the world. He is a member of the scientific advisory boards of the Lungevity Foundation and GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer, and steering committee for the American Cancer Society’s National Lung Cancer Roundtable.
