Overview
The 2024 UCLA Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplantation Symposium is a hybrid virtual and in-person conference, organized by UCLA Health, the UCLA Center for Continuing Professional Development, and a multi-disciplinary group of speakers. The goal of the program is to provide updated information on state-of-the-art therapies available for patients with end-stage lung disease, including medical and interventional approaches, as well as lung transplantation.

Registration

Registration Fees (Live Virtual/Live In-Person)

$50 MD/DO
$40 Nurse, Nurse Practitioner & Allied Health Professionals
$25 Student/Trainees

In-person registration includes access to the course materials, breakfast and lunch.
Virtual registration includes access to the live stream virtual conference.
All registrants (live or virtual) will receive access to the conference recordings up to 3 weeks following the program.

Refunds

No refunds will be granted for this course due to the low enrollment fee. A full refund will be provided if for any reason the course must be canceled or rescheduled.

All registrants (live or virtual) will be provided the opportunity to review recorded sessions up to 3 weeks following the conference.
The recorded sessions are not approved for Continuing Education (CE) credit.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand the state of the art with respect to lung transplantation, including candidate selection, donor selection, donor lung preservation, and advances in research
  2. Be familiar with important clinical considerations when critically ill patients with acute respiratory failure are being considered for lung transplantation
  3. Be familiar with best practices for diagnosis and management of advanced COPD
  4. Be familiar with best practices for diagnosis and management of bronchiectasis
  5. Understand how respiratory viral infections can impact lung transplant candidates and recipients
  6. have a better understanding of how cardiac disease can impact patients with advanced lung disease and those needing lung transplants
  7. Be familiar with the diagnostic best practices when evaluating a patient with interstitial lung disease, including the use of multidisciplinary discussion.
  8. Understand the importance of a multi-disciplinary expert team in the management of a patient after lung transplant and the role played by each team member

Accreditation
The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Directions and Parking
From the 405 freeway, exit Wilshire Blvd., East toward Westwood. Turn left on Westwood Blvd. and turn right on Le Conte Ave. Then, turn left on Tiverton Ave. Once you turn in on Tiverton, go straight into the Geffen Hall parking structure labeled “Visitor Parking 18 & 27”. Proceed left to “Visitor Parking 18”. Please park in the “Visitor Parking 18” Lot. Please use the pay-by-plate station to purchase your parking permit. Participants are responsible for their own parking charges at a rate of $15 per vehicle. The Geffen Hall Auditorium is located at the intersection of Le Conte Ave. and Tiverton Ave.
